Produced by J.Omprakash, and Directed by B.X.sagar, Farmaish was another addition in the long list of films, which bombed at Box office because of hackneyed narrative, unimaginative direction and perfunctory treatment given to story, which defeats the the efforts of talented and experienced star cast.

The story follows the well beaten track of romance between a unsophisticated village girl and educated city boy. After the usual misunderstandings, hick ups they unite after reconciliation, at the end of movie with a breath of relief from viewers. The obstacle to lovers is from a vamp who loves Hero one sided. Despite the loose story and uncreative direction, the stars Bharat Bhushan and Vijay Laxmi give sparkling performance. This is only redeeming aspect of the film apart from the fact that Meena Mangeshkar first time sang in this film. She sang two songs with Rafi, ' Khushiyonke Zamane' and Aapne Chhin Liya'. Both songs were melodious, playful and romantic.

रफ़ी : आप ने छीन लिया दिल इसे क्या कहते हैं
