Katati Hai Ab To Zindgi, Marneke Intejarmein- Lata Mangeshkar- Film Naaz 1954- Prem Dhawan- Music Anil Biswas

After film Maan,  Naaz was another film launched in 1954, whose music was given by composer Anil Biswas. As in Maan, the music had dominating share of Lata's voice. This was a film with Arabic background, and it was the first Bollywood film  shot on foreign location. It was filmed in London and Cairo. Major part of the film was shot on the background of Gizza pyramids. Composer Anil Biswas therefore gave suitable music appropriate with Arabic background. Lata Mangeshkar had five solos in the film.

The songs of the film were written by Dr.Safdar Aah, Satyendra Asthe, Prem Dhawan and Kedar Sharma. All these songs are beautifully composed. Especially the songs 'Katati Hai ab To Zindagi, Marneke Intezarmein' is the masterpiece from Anil Biswas-Lata combination. It is rendered superbly by Lata in her tender and soulful voice drenched in pathos.

(Prem Dhawan's lyrics effectively brings out the pains of betrayal and loss of love. The feelings of desolateness and bleakness of barren life devoid of love and affection are very well described. She rues that earlier her life was fully rejoiced with magical influence of love. The nature seemed to blossom and the world was full of joy and happiness. There was moon in eyes and sun in heart. The life was full with aspirations and hopes. His betrayal however had ruined her life. Now there will be no place for happiness, the life has no purpose. The only thing remained now is spending the life fully laden with agonies and miseries. There is no respite from these torments.)

The combination of ardent, soulful rendition full of angst, the profoundly meaningful lyrics and heart wrenching music bu composer Anil Biswas has created this master piece, which remains itched in the mind of listener for long time.
