Baghi, released in 1953, was a film having Arabian background. Majrooh Sultanpuri wrote the songs for the film and music was given by Madan Mohan. Considering the Arabic background, Madan Mohan has given this song in Arabic style with prelude and interludes in Arabian way and rhythm. The song was picturized on Naseem Bano (Saira Bano's mother), who was the heroine of the film. Naseem Bano had ethereal beauty that kept you captivating. The videos of this film are not available. Therefore we can only imagine how Naseen Bano's exquisite and delicate beauty, when combined with honey sweet voice of Lata, would have produced a mesmerizing effect on the viewers. Lata had five solos in the film, out of which three were sad one. Apart from ' Baharein Hamko  Dhundhengi Na Jane Ham Kaha Honge' and ' Karke Badnam Meri Neendein Haram', this was another of her sad solo . Althogh the film was not successful at Box office, all songs of Lata in this film are revered by avid listeners of old songs of Golden Era. Lata's voice in early fifties, had a kind of sweetness that cannot be described in words. This sweetness and tenderness in her voice was very well harnessed by eminent composers like Husnalal Bhagatram, C.Ramchandra, Anil Biswas and Madan Mohan. However Lata under Madan Mohan's music baton, is superb and stands apart. The association of both created so many musical gems that are immortal and unforgettable. This song may be considered among such musical gems.
