Judai Ki Khabar Hoti- Lata Mangeshkar-Film Aasoon 1953- Lyricist Qamar Jalalabadi- Music Husnalal Bhagatram

Aasoon 1953, was a melodramatic and tear jerkier movie, directed by Shanti Kumar. The songs of the film were penned by Qamar Jalalabadi and music was given by composer duo Husnalal Bhagatram. This was a boring film with lot of teary scenes and slow pace. The direction was amateurish and songs placed at ill-conceived situations.

The lead pair was Shekhar and Kamini Kaushal, supported by Pran,Kumkum, Chaman Puri etc. This was also a movie in which composer Madan Mohan and singer Aameerbai Karnataki featured in smaller roles. Like Mukesh and Talat Mahmood, Madan Mohan also came to Hindi Film Industry to become an actor.  Therefore he tried his luck in this film but did not succeed, he therefore concentrated on music composing career later on.

The plot of the film is about Shekhar, who falls prey to drinking and gambling habits. Most part of the film is spent on depiction of the sorrow and miseries of his wife Kamini Kaushal, who keeps on crying and singing while crying. At the end, it is Pran's character which solves the problem. Surprising....

Husnalal Bhagatram's music was dominated by Lata's voice. She had three solos and two duets with Rafi. All these songs were wonderfully composed.

Lata's duets with Rafi, as mentioned above, became raging hit. Although the film did below average business at Box office, it's music was revered by cine viewers. Today this film is remembered only for it's melodious songs, by composer duo Husnalal Bhagatram, who were instrumental in shaping Lata Mangeshkar's singing career.
