Khush Hai Zamana Aaj Pahali tareekh-Kishor Kumar- Film Pahali Tareekh- Lyrics Qamar Jalalabadi- Music Sudhir Phadke.

Like composer Avinash Vyas who was a renowned music director in Gujarati Cinema, Sudhir Phadke was a well known and gifted composer. His work in Marathi Cinema as a singer and composer is well known. That's why he is revered fondly as Babuji in Maharashtra and treated like a God in Marathi film music industry. He had brief association with Hindi Films during which he gave music to films like Gokul Ka Chor, Murliwala, Sajni, Bhabhi Ki Chudiyan and Pahali tareekh etc. Except Bhabhi Ki Chudiyan and Pahali Tareekh, other films did not do well on Box office. However his music in all those films was excellent with mellifluous harmony. The songs of Sajni, Bhabhi Ki Chudiyan and Pahali Tareekh became famous.

Before the advent of Kishor Kumar as singer-actor in Hindi films, every music director has his unique signature on his music ,irrespective of singers. For example deeply soulful and tender songs was the specialty of composers like Anil Biswas, Madan Mohan, Roshan, whereas C.Ramchandra had authority over playful , peppy and comedy songs. However after the arrival of Kishor Kumar as actor and singer in Hindi Films, the composers began to modify their music to suit the style of Kishor Kumar's singing.  It was inconceivable at that time that apart from C.Ramchandra, other composers also can compose peppy, flying and comedy songs. Sudhir Phadke wanted to break this notion. He accepted this as challenge and succeeded in that. The result is this song which has become one of the immortal songs by Kishor Kumar.  Even after so many years, Radio Ceylon plays the song on first of every month.

The basic tune is composed by Sudhir Phadke, however the variations, different modulations in voice and basic tune is certainly the work of Kishor Kumar and it has enhanced the beauty and zest of the song. Therefore it succeeds in creating an ambiance of energy, fervour and happiness. The song was picturized on comedian Maruti, father of comedian Guddi Maruti, who had a small role in the film.
