Bajooband was a film produced by Ashalata Biswas, who was ex-wife of Anil Biswas. The movies produced by her under Variety Pictures had Anil Biswas's music invariably. However Bajooband was an exception to this.  His music in this film had fair share of Lata's voice. Out of seven songs. Lata had sung five songs in this film. The song ' Bajooband Khul Khul Jaye' was pictured on actress Roopmala. Other songs of Bajooband are long forgotten but this song stands apart, as it is based on classical base in Raag Bhairavi.

Surajmal (Balram Sahani) is a rich businessman but have a bad habit of alcoholism. For drinks he used to go to Chandni who is a prostitute and is actually after the money of Surajmal. Radha (Sulochana Chatterjee) is wife of Suraj. Once Radha went to meet her mother but when she came back she found Chandni in home, who has total control on Surajmal. Chandni creates a situation and Radha has to leave her home forever. Meanwhile Chandni make a plan with Bankelal to kill Surajmal and get all his property. But some how Radha manage to reach there and save the life of his husband with the help of Saawariya Seth(Om Prakash).
