After film 'Shama parwana', ' Mirza Ghalib' and 'Waris', Bilwamangal was fourth film of actress-singer Suraiyya., which was released in 1954. After the demise of K.L.Saigal and actor Surendra stopping his singing, the tradition of actor-singers came to end. However some singers were trying to revive the tradition. Mukesh was the first of such singers who tried his luck in acting in films like Nirdosh 1941 and Mashuka 1953. However he could not gain fame and recognition as actor, therefore he concentrated on his singing career. Similar is the case of Talat Mahmood who also tried his hand in acting in films Samapti 1949 and Dil-E-Nadan 1951. Like Mukesh he was also unsuccessful as actor. Third singer in this list is C.H.Atma. He acted in films ' Bhaisahab' and Bilwamangal' in the year 1954.
Thus Suraiyya has to her credit to be heroine of every singer, who were trying to create career in acting as Hero. She was heroine of K.L.Saigal ( Tadbir, Omar Khayyam, Parwana), Surendra (Anmol Ghadi 1957), Mukesh (Mashuka 1953), Talat Mahmood (Waris and Malik) and finally C.H.Atma (Bilwamangal)
Earlier also, in 1942, Ranjit Studio had produced a film ' Bhakt Surdas' on the same story, in which the duo of singer actor-actress, K.L.Saigal and Khurshid were in lead pair and music of the film was given by Gyandutt. Bilwamangal produced by Madan Theatres, in 1954 also had singer actor-actress pair C.H.Atma and Suraiyya in lead pair. The music of this film was given by Bulo C.Rani. The lyrics of the songs were written by D.N.Madhok and it was also directed by D.N.Madhok.
C.H.Atma had five solo songs, which he had rendered in the style of K.L.Saigal, to whom he worshiped.

Today I have selected this song ' Chubh Gaye Do Naina Matwale', because of its beautiful lyrics and superb rendering of the song by C.H.Atma in his manly baritone voice, which is also capable of turning mellow and soulful according to lyrics. He has sung the song in Saigal style.
